FRX also goes a step further with our menu and customer service. Our selections of vapes, concentrates, edibles, tinctures, and topicals are unrivaled.
We also put our patients’ health, comfort, and convenience first. Our Wellness Consultants are your friendly Medical Cannabis experts and will always work with you and help you find exactly what you need. Moreover, every product on the FRX shelf is tested by an independent 3rd party laboratory for purity and contaminants.
FRX recognizes that the right to sell Medical Cannabis is a privilege. We’re grateful for it, and we don’t take it lightly. That’s why we always strive to do better than we did yesterday. Our mission is to build a brighter tomorrow with Medical Cannabis, and FRX dispensaries are the future of Medical Cannabis retail.
It wasn’t that long ago when selling Medical Cannabis in Ohio could land you in jail. How times have changed. Ohio has witnessed a remarkable transformation in its attitude toward marijuana, a plant that has been stigmatized and criminalized for over a century.
It was a long journey to get here. These are milestones that have shaped the current state of legal Medical Cannabis in Ohio:
In 2016, Ohio’s citizens voted in favor of legalizing medical marijuana. The state took a cautious approach, establishing a highly regulated system for medical marijuana cultivation, medical marijuana processing, and medical marijuana distribution.
The Ohio Medical Marijuana Control Program (OMMCP) was created to provide patients with qualifying medical conditions a way to become Medical Cannabis patients. Once an Ohio citizen is qualified, it gives them the right to shop at a dispensary and purchase Medical Cannabis, edibles, or other Medical Cannabis products at a Medical Cannabis dispensary.
To service these patient’s needs, dispensary locations opened throughout Ohio in cities such as Cleveland, Columbus, Akron, Newark, Lorain, Beavercreek, Fremont, Springfield, Athens, and Lakewood. But our favorite Ohio cities with legal Medical Cannabis are Elyria, East Liverpool, and Cuyahoga Falls — now home to FRX Dispensaries
As the Medical Cannabis industry gained momentum, farms to cultivate flower, processing and manufacturing facilities, and dispensaries sprouted across the state. These all generated employment opportunities, and tax revenue and boosted the economy. Further, the carefully structured regulatory framework created a solid foundation for responsible Medical Cannabis use.
Building on the successful sale of medical marijuana in dispensary locations throughout Ohio, discussions about recreational legalization gained traction. This dialogue ultimately led to the introduction of bills aimed at legalizing recreational marijuana the recreational dispensary, and reflected the support for cannabis access to improve quality of life.
Ohio became the 24th state where recreational marijuana is legal in 2023 after voters passed Issue 2 in the November election. The legalization of recreational marijuana took effect on Dec. 7, 2023, but it seems likely that Ohio will not issue retail licenses until late 2024.
As written, the law allows anyone over 21 to have 2.5 ounces of cannabis flower and 15 grams of extract. This could change as the law is subject to revision.
Right now, there are no authorized sellers, and it will take some time before the Division of Cannabis Control starts processing retailer applications.
If you’re considering taking a trip to Michigan, think again. Technically, it’s against federal law to transport marijuana across state lines.
Yes, they sure can.
Today, Ohioans can grow up to six plants for an individual over 21 and up to a dozen plants for households with more than one adult. The Senate is attempting to change that to six plants for one household.
The Ohio Department of Commerce reported that marijuana consumption would follow similar rules as cigarettes — not in public indoor places. It isn’t completely clear, though. We need more clarifications on public use.
